The starting line of Weissee Gletscherwelt Trail is located at Enzingerboden (1,483 m) at the ground station of the cable car to Weissee Gletscherwelt. Soon after the start the track passes Grünsee, from there to the middle station of the cable car and then directly up to the Rudolfshütte (2,315 m). Then trough a technically challenging downhill to the reservoir Tauernmoos (about 2,000 m), from there straight uphill through the Rifflkar and along the glacier Rifflkees to Kapruner Törl (2,639 m). Right below Kapruner Törl the track passes a snowfield, then runs on fine trails along the reservoir Mooserboden with a brilliant look to Wiesbachhorn (3,564 m). After crossing Mooserboden's mighty dam, the track follows partwise technical trails downhill to Gletscherbahn Kaprun, from there only flat
to the finish line at Salzburger Platz in Kaprun. The track runs through 2 valleys, along 5 glaciers, 300 peaks with more than 3,000 m around.
GWT 35 offers a start into high-alpine trail running. However, with 1,500 m climb ascent and often technically very difficult terrain is still no walk. The terrain is difficult and the alpine environment means a challenge for every participant. Experience in endurance sports, preferably in the mountains, and a good physical condition are a pre-condition for registration. Please check "Pre-Conditions" and "Obligatory Equipment" to learn more about the character of the race and obligatory equipment.

Weissee Gletscherwelt Trail (GWT 35) is a trail running competition, leading mostly through difficult alpine territory, often higher than 2,600 m. Expect 1 larger snow field to cross, under bad weather conditions even more. For the largest part the track leads over trails (90 %), which are (partwise very) difficult. Bad weather conditions (low temperatures, rainfall, snow) make the race even harder.
Trails are in average very technical. The hardest parts will be the trails down from Rudolfshütte, up to and down Kapruner Törl (2,639 m) as well as (partwise) down from the Kapruner Hochgebirgsstauseen.
Every participant has to be so physically fit and surefooted that they can manage the chosen trail according to the rules. Experience in running, combined with experience for moving in high alpine environment, are a precondition for the participation in Gletscherwelt Trail. The minimum age for participation is 16 years (participants younger than 18 have to provide a written confirmation for participation by their legal representatives).
The overall time limit for Gletscherwelt Trail is 11 hours.
